June 2016 was the season for heart breaks.
When Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris split up, hearts broke all over the internet. Not too long later, news that Taylor was dating heartthrob Tom Hiddleston surfaced. Causing even more hearts to break.
We convinced a hospital to hijack the moment.
The Medical City, a leading hospital in the Philippines wanted to show how good they were at caring for hearts. So at a time when hearts were breaking all over the internet, they released The Hurt Blocker.
A downloadable browser extension that blocks hurtful content online, anything that could cause heartbreak. A special image warning people how the post may hurt their hearts covered the page instead. It all lead to a hospital’s website where they could sign up for a simple check up and heart wellness program.
The Hurt Blocker garnered TMC a lot of free publicity and increased engagement on their social media channels.
People would tag their heart broken friends with the link. Tech and Advertising sites featured the effort and taught people how to download the extension.
We like to think the whole campaign brought humanity one step closer to moving on.
Seen below are some of the social posts we shared alongside a download link for The Hurt Blocker.

Translation: Sometimes, Facebook is just like your ex: endlessly hurting you

Translation: If you can't block your ex, at least block the lovey dovey posts on your wall.

Translation: Are you being used to cover the hole in someone else's heart? Maybe you need something to cover those romantic posts on your wall.

Translation: A Facebook Wall is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're going to get. Sometimes you get something really sour.
